My name is
Janet Reynolds Cassels and I am a native of
Groveton, Trinity County, Texas. My parents
are John W. Reynolds Sr. and Patricia Reynolds of
Groveton. For many years, my father was the
Superintendent of Schools at Groveton (formerly a
Principal and Head Coach) and my mother still
teaches Kindergarten there.
I attended Groveton Schools and graduated from
Groveton High School in 1988 as Valedictorian.
From there I attended Texas A&M University and
graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991 with a Bachelor of
Arts in English. I then attended the
University of Texas School of Law and graduated with
a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree in 1995.
Since 1995, I have gained experience and practiced
in both a general practice firm, currently Cassels &
Reynolds, L.L.P., in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas,
and the Angelina County District Attorney’s Office
where I handled felony cases in jury trials, trials
to the court, revocations, sentencings, and CPS
cases, as well as appeals. My husband, Jimmy
A. Cassels, also a lawyer, and I currently reside in
Apple Springs with our two sons.
